How to use:

This tool calculates the relationship between cell number, viral titer, and the Multiplicity of Infection (MOI).

  • To find volume: Enter Cell Count, Titer, and Desired MOI. Leave Volume blank.
  • To find MOI: Enter Cell Count, Titer, and Volume. Leave MOI blank.
  • Note: Scientific notation (e.g., 1e6) is supported for large cell counts.
What is MOI?

MOI is the average number of infectious units that hit each cell. At an MOI of 1, Poisson statistics suggest that 37% of cells will be uninfected, 37% will have one virus, and 26% will have two or more.
