How to use:
This tool is used to calculate how to dilute a concentrated stock solution to a specific lower concentration and final volume using the C1V1 = C2V2 equation.
To use the calculator:
- Enter three known values (Concentrations C and Volumes V).
- Select the units for each value ranging from kg/L to ng/mL.
- Leave the field you want to solve for blank and click the "Calculate" button.
- Once complete, click "Save PNG" to export the calculation to your lab records.
Example:
Dilute a 10 mg/mL stock to 50 µg/mL in a 5 mL total volume:
- Enter 10 mg/mL for C1.
- Enter 50 µg/mL for C2.
- Enter 5 mL for V2.
- Leave V1 blank and click Calculate.
Result: V1 = 0.0250 mL (25 µL). Combine 25 µL stock with 4.975 mL diluent.
